The Legend
The Lung Tester traces its origins back to the maritime traditions of old, particularly within the Navy. This tool, known as the Lung Tester, was utilised by divers prior to submerging for a dive. By blowing into the pipe, they would gauge the duration the wheel spun. Upon resurfacing, the divers would repeat the test, ensuring they maintained the same blowing duration, thus verifying the integrity of their lungs post-dive.
What does it entail?
If you're unfamiliar with these devices, you're in for an intriguing discovery! A brief video clip showcases their capabilities: you can blow into the pipe to set the wheel in motion. However, pass it to a friend, and they'll find themselves dusted with talcum powder.
