Le magicien montre au public une petite assiette et y met une pièce de 2 pence.
Il introduit ensuite un verre transparent solide et le place, bouche vers le bas, sur la pièce de monnaie posée sur l'assiette.
Maintenant, avec une pièce de 10 pence, il commence à taper sur le fond du verre et tout à coup, le public verra la pièce « pénétrer » dans le fond du verre et tomber près de la pièce de 2 pence sur l'assiette.
